with curved fullered blade double-edged towards the point, silver hilt comprising down-curved quillons with monsterhead terminals, a raised cartouche in the centre engraved with a calligraphic inscription on one side and a rondel with a further inscription on the other, solid grip engraved with flowers and foliage within a linear frame, rising to a shaped pommel (areas of wear, small dents), in a contemporary embossed silver scabbard with wooden core, decorated over its surface with designs of flowers and foliage within a framework of broad ropework panels and beaded borders, and two loops for suspension, complete with leather straps and cords for suspension
