Lincolnshire Yeomanry
A rare Georgian white metal badge, possibly for a shako, with a Guelphic Crown above a strap inscribed 'THE EARL OF YARBOROUGH'S OWN', flanked by laurel sprays bearing the numeral 12. Within the strap, an elaborate cypher. Replacement fittings.
Note: The Caistor troop of Lincolnshire Yeomanry was raised by Captain Lord Yarborough in 1798. The unit was stood down shortly afterwards, and although most of the troops were revived in 1803, that of Lord Yarborough does not appear to have been one of them.
